Charles Palmer Vineyards is a family-run estate producing exceptional English sparkling and still wines. Charles Palmer Vineyards consists of eight separate vineyard blocks, all within a single estate at Winchelsea. Each block has its own individual terroir and is planted with different clones of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and a new hybrid variety, Sauvignac – a cross between Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling.
Their cosy cellar door offers 14 tastings per week including a Wine and Cheese Experience and a tour of the winery. You can also just pop by during opening hours to purchase by the glass or bottle. Picnic hampers are also available daily! If you are looking for something a little more special, they work with a selection of private chefs who can offer freshly cooked pre booked lunches.
If you are looking to really experience Old England, Wickham Manor – a beautiful 16th century manor house can also be found on their estate. It provides two private wings for guests to enjoy alongside their wine experience. It has also been the film set for Mr Holmes and The Crown on Netflix.
